Cool Site for childern

On occasions I stumble upon some amazing site for children to learn about art of to produce art. The one site I have found that I showed in class last school year is called Art for kids hub. It is a great site to inspire children to draw and feel good about something that they produced. It's a great draw along. The instructor has children draw right along with him. These videos are well put together and can hold children's interest for the entire time.

Wily Wonka

The music teacher has decided to put on a end of the year play. This is awesome because not only do the students have to audition for their parts but I have the opportunity to make props for the show. I have only work on one prop but that is because I haven't gotten the supplies for the other props.

ART SHOW

So I have been gone on the blog scene for a little while, but life got really busy. I had my first ART Show ever. It was haaaaaaaaaaaaard! I thank God for my Team and for the wonderful high schools students that help put the show together. I had about 15 parents bring their children. I use the cafeteria and the Media center. I had fun though. I am on the ball for next year though seeing what I need to do differently and better.

YAM!!!

Youth Art Month was last month and I had my student's art work displayed in our public Library. This year I had about 9 students show up. This was more students than last year. I figure each year I should get more students as they use to their art work being in the Library. It was fun and the Library look great!!

Honors Choir

Over the weekend four of our students were selected to take part in the elementary school honors choir. They had about 14 schools participate in the choir with over 150 students. It was a real treat.

Happy birthday

One of the things I love about teaching, especially art are the students. When it is your birthday they go all out. My birthday was last Wednesday. ( HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME) What a blessing to see another birthday.  So when I got to school the 2nd graders stood in a line and sang happy birthday to me outside my door. You know I love it. Then I received cards all day. Ahhhhh being a teacher is pretty nice.

Winter Festival

I didn't realize that only the middle school and high school art students were getting awards. My mistake. I was still rather impressed and proud of my students. I had a great time at the art exhibition this past Friday. It was so many wonder student art I couldn't believe it was all from our local schools. Coca(Council on Culture and arts) did a great job putting the show together. They do this ever year. I am excited for next year.
