Goodbye Butterflies
So the kindergarteners finished their recycled butterflies First I let them paint ( Whoohooo they love to paint) a paper towel roll and draw on a piece of construction paper. The next class period I hot glued the two together and put holes in the roll so they could add the feelers with pipe cleaners. Since this the end of the year they take anything they make home that day. They were so excited to take these home. Good bye butterflies. I hope their parents enjoy their project

3D illusions:5th grade
For the last nine weeks of this year I have decided to show the 5th graders a little op art for their last project with me as elementary schools students. We started out using the hexagon shape and then used shading to make it look like an illusion. They love this project. We are going to add to this project next week

Student Work
I just love it when students bring in work from home. This student actually made this one for his Classroom teacher and wanted me to see it before he gave it to her. After he showed me I showed him how to make a pop up book. I really think he did a good job.
Cartouche necklaces
My third graders made cartouche necklaces and they loved it when I called them up to put it around their necks.
Project Overload: First Grade
We have been learning about underwater animals this nine weeks in class. This is a time I like to combine recycled materials and our learning of animals into several projects. So our first animal was a STARFISH. I like this project with 1st graders, they are always super excited when I show the videos and pictures and of course I am jumping around all over the place.
So what I had them do on the next day was on blue paper draw and under water scene and they cut into their toilet paper roll so that they had five pieces. I hot glued the pieces together( we are on a time crunch so I glued them together, it went faster) I then drizzled regular elmer's glue on them and they added sand to their star fish. The it was glued to their papers and taken home the same day.

Wily Wonka
The music teacher has decided to put on a end of the year play. This is awesome because not only do the students have to audition for their parts but I have the opportunity to make props for the show. I have only work on one prop but that is because I haven't gotten the supplies for the other props.

ART SHOW
So I have been gone on the blog scene for a little while, but life got really busy. I had my first ART Show ever. It was haaaaaaaaaaaaard! I thank God for my Team and for the wonderful high schools students that help put the show together. I had about 15 parents bring their children. I use the cafeteria and the Media center. I had fun though. I am on the ball for next year though seeing what I need to do differently and better.

YAM!!!
Youth Art Month was last month and I had my student's art work displayed in our public Library. This year I had about 9 students show up. This was more students than last year. I figure each year I should get more students as they use to their art work being in the Library. It was fun and the Library look great!!
