Third Grade King Tut

Here are some finished King Tut portraits by some of my 3rd graders.

One of the things that I love about teaching art is when the students go home and actually make the thing I taught them in class. I sometimes think they will remember and then they show up with work. I also found out that they can learn more about King Tut on Success maker. Win for art!!!!

Little weaving

One of the wonder art teachers let me hold her little figurine of a little women weaving. She gave it to me to show the 2nd graders because they are weaving. They were so excited to see it. I think that made the weaving experience even better.

Greek Vases- 4th Grade

We are now in the last weeks of the nine weeks and my 4th graders are getting into their 3D project. They are making Greek Vases. Now I have found something call plaster cloths. Well not really one of our art teachers told me about it. Oh how it change my life! I wanted to paper mache before they put on the plaster but in the words of my students, " we don't have time for that". We used the plaster strips and it worked out great. They are going to finish up in the last nine weeks after spring break and we are going to put them in the Sabal Palm art show.
Ok well this one is mine. I just need to see how it was going to hold up.

Project Over load- 5th Grade

The 5th graders were studying the Mayans civilization. So I decided that we were going to do some print making. They enjoyed this project. It was also quick and quite simple

Honors Choir

Over the weekend four of our students were selected to take part in the elementary school honors choir. They had about 14 schools participate in the choir with over 150 students. It was a real treat.

Poject Overload 3rd Grade

Third grade has taken a trip to Ancient Egypt. They have been creating some wonderful art work.
Of course we had sketchbook entries and Test to go along with our projects.

Each student created their own Cartouche.
Each student also drew their own King Tut
You can see the gallery for these projects on Artsonia.
